Your company’s vital asset: Where do you house your Operating Model today?

Join our LinkedIn Live Stream and explore the heart of business strategy – your Operating Model. Discover with Terry Roach where it resides and delve into the world of effective
business transformation.

The business Operating Model is your company’s most important strategic asset. Where do you house your Operating Model today?

Effective business transformation is not about transforming, but rather about building the capacity to continuously transform. Organisations need to develop the unique cognitive muscle to be able to pivot quickly, ensuring that business operations are continuously aligned with shifting priorities.

Capability-based planning is a strategic transformation methodology that leverages a comprehensive perspective of the business operating model, dynamic maturity assessments, and prioritised, value-aligned business drivers to enable continuous innovation.

Terry is the Founder & Chief Technology Officer at Capsifi. Over a distinguished career in senior executive positions at global technology vendors (including IBM, Apple, PeopleSoft and Oracle), Terry participated in dozens of complex business transformation projects across the world. Frustrated with a universal challenge he witnessed, that large complex organisations struggled to adequately describe their business operation, Terry was inspired to search for a more complete and integrated way to do so. His 2011 PhD thesis from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) established ‘The CAPSICUM Framework for Strategically Aligned Business Architectures’, which has since evolved into the foundation metamodel for the Capsifi Digital Business platform. In 2013 he began rounding up some of brightest minds he’d worked with to help create a develop an architecture repository and from there, Capsifi was born.

Terry continues to pursue an active academic research career holding an Adjunct Senior Lecturer position in the Department of Computer Science at UNSW and is a Professional Advisory Board member at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Terry is also on the global Board of Directors of the International Institute of Business Analysts (IIBA).
